Smoothening, Nano Plastia or Hair Botox? How to pick the right one for your hair

Three treatments, three very different jobs. Here's how to tell whether your hair needs straightening, smoothing or simply repair.

Every week someone walks in and says, "I want that treatment for frizzy hair." Then we ask which one, and the honest answer is: it depends on what you actually want your hair to do. Smoothening, Nano Plastia and hair botox all get lumped together as frizz fixes, but they solve three different problems.

Start with the question that matters: straighter, smoother or stronger?

Before comparing names, decide what result you are after. If you want to change your hair's texture, that is one service. If you want frizz gone but your natural movement kept, that is another. If your hair is simply tired and breaking, that is a third.

Smoothening: when you want straighter, calmer hair

Smoothening relaxes the hair's structure, so the result is visibly straighter and far easier to manage. It is a real chemical service and it changes the texture itself, which is exactly why people book it when frizz control alone is not enough. Expect a longer sitting of roughly two and a half to four hours, and results that typically last three to five months.

Aftercare matters here. Wait 72 hours before your first wash, switch to sulphate-free shampoo, and keep your hair loose for the first few days so the straight result sets properly.

Nano Plastia: when you want smooth, not flat

Nano Plastia works inside the strand with amino acids and nano-molecules rather than harsh chemicals, and it is formaldehyde-free. The finish is glass-smooth and shiny, cuts frizz and unwanted volume, but your hair keeps its natural movement. It usually holds for up to six months, and it takes about two to three hours.

This is the one we suggest most often for Bengaluru's humidity, especially for people who like their waves or bends and just want them to behave.

Hair botox: when the problem is damage, not frizz

The name is misleading. There are no needles and it has nothing to do with actual botox. Hair botox is a deep filler treatment that pushes proteins, lipids and vitamins back into the hair shaft. It suits hair that snaps when you brush it, split ends that return a week after a trim, and dullness no serum fixes.

It is also the quickest of the three, around 60 to 90 minutes, and most people see stronger, shinier hair from the first session. A refresh every two to three months keeps damage from creeping back.

A quick way to choose

  • Want noticeably straighter hair and less daily styling? Smoothening
  • Want glossy, frizz-free hair that still moves naturally? Nano Plastia
  • Hair feels rough, breaks easily or looks dull? Hair botox
  • Not sure? Book a consultation and we will check texture, porosity and chemical history before recommending anything

Colour, bleach and previous treatments

Recently coloured or lightened hair can still be treated, but the order and gap between services matter. This is the part worth deciding with a stylist looking at your hair rather than guessing from a photo, so tell us everything you have done to your hair in the last year.

Whichever you choose, sulphate-free shampoo and gentler heat styling protect the result. It is the cheapest way to make any of these last longer.
