Cupping Massage
Suction that lifts, not presses.Cupping Massage at HSR Layout
Every other massage presses down. Cupping does the opposite — suction and negative pressure lift the tissue away from the muscle beneath, decompressing it. That is why it reaches tightness that hands alone keep sliding over.
Beyond the muscular effect, cupping encourages blood flow into areas that have been restricted and sedates the nervous system, which is why it is considered an excellent treatment for high blood pressure. Cups are either held and glided through oil or left static on specific points, depending on what your body needs.

Concerns this solves
When you have had massage after massage and the same area stays locked, cupping approaches it from an entirely different direction.
Deep tightness that returns however hard it is massaged
Poor circulation and areas that feel cold or heavy
High blood pressure and a nervous system stuck on alert
Stiffness across the back and shoulders that will not shift
The difference you'll feel.
Static and gliding cupping
We use both — cups glided through oil to cover broad areas, and static cups held on specific points where tension is concentrated.
Suction judged to your tolerance
Cup strength is adjusted to your body and comfort. Stronger is not better, and over-suctioning simply leaves marks without extra benefit.
We explain the marks upfront
Circular marks are normal and we'll tell you exactly what to expect and how long they last, before we start rather than after.
Your experience, step by step.
Consultation
We discuss your tightness, circulation and any blood pressure concerns.
Oil & Warm
Warm oil is applied so the cups can glide smoothly.
Gliding Cupping
Cups are moved across broad areas to release surface tension.
Static Cupping
Cups are held on specific tight points, then removed and soothed.

Make your results last.
Keep the area warm
Cover up afterwards — cupped areas are more sensitive to cold.
Drink plenty of water
Hydration matters more after cupping than after most massages.
Expect marks for a few days
Circular marks are normal and fade within three to seven days.

Your cupping massage questions,
answered honestly.
Does cupping hurt?
It's a pulling sensation rather than pressure — unusual at first but not painful. Most people find it oddly satisfying, particularly the gliding cups. Tell us if suction feels too strong and we'll ease it immediately.
Why does it leave circular marks?
The suction draws blood towards the surface in the area being treated. The marks aren't bruises from impact and aren't painful. They fade in three to seven days — darker marks generally mean more congestion in that area.
How long do the marks last?
Typically three to seven days, occasionally up to ten for very congested areas. If you have a wedding, shoot or holiday coming up, tell us and we'll either use lighter suction or place cups where clothing covers them.
Is cupping good for high blood pressure?
It's traditionally used for exactly that — the suction and negative pressure sedate the nervous system, which supports lower blood pressure. It complements rather than replaces medical treatment, so keep taking anything your doctor has prescribed.
Who should avoid cupping?
We don't cup over broken or inflamed skin, varicose veins, or on anyone on blood thinners, pregnant, or with a bleeding disorder. Tell us your history at booking and we'll advise honestly.
What's the difference between this and the cupping in Sports Massage?
Sports Massage includes fifteen minutes of cupping as a recovery finish alongside stretching. This is a full 60 or 90 minute session built entirely around cupping — far more thorough, and the right choice if cupping is what you're actually after.
