How is this different from balayage?
Highlights are usually applied with foil for a more uniform, all-over lift; balayage is hand-painted freehand for a softer, more graduated look. We'll recommend based on the finish you want and how low-maintenance you need the grow-out to be.
Will highlights look stripy?
Not with careful sectioning and placement matched to how you actually wear your hair — that's the entire point of the consultation before we start.
How often do I need to redo them?
Most clients come back every 8–12 weeks for a refresh, longer than a full colour or root touch-up since highlights grow out more softly.
Can I get highlights on previously coloured hair?
Usually yes — we'll check your colour history and hair condition first and let you know honestly if it needs a corrective step before highlighting.
Do highlights damage hair?
Any lightening process affects hair to some degree, which is why we assess condition first and use bond-friendly additives. If your hair isn't ready for it, we'll say so rather than risk it.
